Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was maintained during the groundwork at the toes of the present Sea Wall. The beach was excavated to a depth of 2m and lines with a textile membrane. Rock Armour was then placed in the excavation. Components of both modern wooden groynes and of masonry walls were noted, along with a line of vertical wooden stakes, which may have been part of an earlier sea wall of uncertain date. [Au(abr)] |
