Abstract:		 The assessment of archaeological and historical evidence suggested the strong likelihood of the preservation of potentially significant deposits, relating to the core of the medieval and possibly earlier settlement of Otley. As a result an archaeological restraint was placed along with planning permission for the original area of development and a similar constrain was likely to be extended to include the additional area of proposed development to the east.
