Abstract: |
The watching brief was conducted during the excavation of a series of trenches as part of the construction work for a water mains renewal scheme. Previous excavations within 100m of the trenches had identified phases of activity dating from an Anglian cemetery to the present day. In four of the trenches, stratified deposits were recorded, two trenches exposed deposits representing the former Anglian phase of activity. No archaeological features or finds were identified.
