Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in advance of redevelopment of a site located within an Archaeological Priority Area. Two trial trenches yielded evidence of a major late 18th, early 19th century sewer, and brick quarries. No trace of the Roman road, projected to run through the site, was found; it was considered to have either been removed at some unknown point in the past, or to have been diverted to the north.
