Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out in connection with the proposed construction of a single dwelling and associated groundworks. A singe 'L' shaped trench was excavated within the proposed building footprint in order to ascertain the presence or absence of archaeological remains. The subsequent investigation of the trench revealed two narrow ditches and the lowest course of a clunch wall. The only dating evidence was a single sherd of medieval pottery from one of the ditches and may have related to the medieval settlement located the north. [Au(abr)] |
