Abstract: |
In connection with the re-paving of Church Walk, Newark, an archaeological excavation was carried out. The aim was to examine the nature and extent of archaeological remains and to remove all human remains to a depth adequate to allow the works to be carried out. After lifting the paving slabs, the ground beneath was removed archaeologically. Post-medieval building activity had caused disturbance over much of the site. The remains of three human skeletons were revealed, recorded and removed. No other significant features were identified. [Au] |
