Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which had formerly been occupied by 18th century and later hospital buildings. Two houses remaining in the southern part of the site were Listed Buildings. During the evaluation, an undated linear feature and two possible boundary walls were recorded, and cultivation soils containing early post-medieval pottery were observed. Undated building material, animal bone, a fragment of burnt flint and a flint waste flake were recovered. It was concluded that the development was unlikely to encounter or have an impact upon significant archaeological deposits. [AIP] |
