Abstract: |
There was very little recorded archaeology from the immediate area of the site and the prehistoric record was limited to isolated finds on the nearby gravel terraces. Roman, Saxon and medieval finds were also scarce and tended to indicate settlement centred either in the Wandle Valley or clustered around small settlements, such as Garret's Green, to the south-west.
