Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation and limited building survey were undertaken on the site. The grounds of the hospital and Brentry House were to be redeveloped as residential accommodation. Remains of the estate boundary wall were located in two of the ten evaluation trenches excavated, however, the considerable disturbance caused by modern services and the demolition of hospital buildings had removed evidence of the layout of the kitchen garden and potential archaeological deposits. The building survey revealed that the spine wall within the former stable block formed the south-west wall of the inner garden. [Au(abr)] |
