Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring and recording were carried out during the construction of a new parish room at the side of a church. Works involved the demolition of a boiler house and the unblocking of the north doorway; the latter probably dated from the 13th century. No surviving archaeological layers were found beneath the boiler house, and no evidence of a former north porch was identified. A fragmentary hoodmould above the doorway was recorded, and hinges were noted which indicated the former existence of double doors. [AIP] |
