Abstract: |
Observation of internal renovation work was undertaken inside Windmill House. The house was originally two semi-detached, one-bay cottages, built of sandstone and largely rebuilt and repaired in brick during the mid-18th century. The work revealed early floors dating from the 17th century, an ash pit and a brick bench. Blocked doorways suggested that at one point the house was directly accessible from the adjacent 16th century Jacques Cottage. [Au(abr)] |
