Abstract: |
At the entrance to the farm complexes two north-south ditches were located. Within the confines of the farmyard the trench revealed only a shallow layer of overburden above the natural limestone. Exceptions to this were an east-west ditch near the southern limit of the farm yard and a series of plough furrows in the barns. A second phase of work involved observing the removal of topsoil from the car park to the east of the farm complex. The major ditches seen in the earlier work were observed to continue across the area. The base of an east-west wall cutting the ditches was also identified. [Au(abr)] |
