Abstract: |
The site lay in the north eastern corner of insula XIX of the Roman town of Corinium. The evaluation revealed well preserved archaeological deposits across the study area, including the floor levels of a Roman building. Medieval ditches were also found. All of these deposits were covered in a thick layer of reworked dark earth. Where excavated by hand, much of this deposit produced medieval pottery. This layer was in turn cut by post-medieval pits and walls. [Au] |
