Abstract: |
Desk-based study revealed details of the 19th century and later development of the estate centred on the Chase (now the site of the Chase Hotel). During a field visit the remains of the water powered system supplying water to the house were identified. The earlier history of the site was obscure, but a possible mill site was identified in an area where slight earthworks still survived. [Au(abr)] |
