Abstract: |
Archaeologial evaluations consisting of a resistivity survey and excavations were undertaken on the proposed site of asset renewal at a sewage treatment works. A previous desk-based assessment had identified a number of cropmark features of potential significance. A resistivity survey revealed a number of anomalies, but most appeared to be due to recent disturbance and none matched the alignment of the cropmarks. Several features were revealed during the excavations but these proved to be of modern origin, two features/gullys were revealed that may have been of antiquity but no dating evidence was obtained.
