Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a nursing home and apartments. The proposed development area was divided into three zones. Zone one revealed limited archaeological evidence other than three post-medieval linear features and three possible postholes of uncertain date. Zone 2 revealed a rectangular post-medieval pit, possibly associated with the features in Zone 3. Zone 3 revealed a group of sub-rectangular post-medieval quarry pits and a number of linear features.
