Abstract: |
A watching brief was held over groundworks for a housing development after a geophysical survey was undertaken earlier in the year (Webb 1997). A widespread deposit of crushed red brick containing modern pottery, and sometimes associated with vitrified brick fragments, was located on the site. This may have been dumped or a result of the use of clamp kilns on the site. Deposits of clay were also found and they were thought to have been dumped. [Au] |
