Abstract: |
The watching brief was required as a condition upon planning permission for the laying out of a Millennium Green. The groundworks were almost completed before the watching brief was commissioned. A photographic record of the historic bridge structure was made. The rest of the site was completely landscaped in preparation for the dumping of topsoil. The warehouse adjacent to which contemporary structural remains may have survived had been demolished. No archaeological observations were possible. The watching brief was therefore entirely inconclusive. [Au(abr)] |
