Abstract: |
An appraisal was carried out during a single visit to a construction site which lay within an area of archaeological interest. Foundation trenches excavated for the proposed buildings were recorded. The specific purpose of the appraisal was to ascertain the extent and nature of archaeological remains, in order to establish whether or not further action would be necessary. No significant remains were discovered, but it was concluded that more useful information would have been gained by recording the excavation of the larger pits for concrete bases. [AIP] |
