Abstract:		 A new cable duct was installed in the eastern wall of the kitchen at Durham Castle. This ran through the wall at the back of a large early recess and allowed the passage of a three-phase electric supply to the kitchen. The wall was examined. The work did not have a significant impact on the archaeological value of this part of the building; no new information about the kitchen was recovered in the course of the work. [Au(abr)]
