Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed deposits, surfaces and walls probably associated with the earliest occupation of the existing, but now derelict, 18th century farmhouse. A single linear ditch-like feature containing medieval pottery was located within the immediate area of the house and appeared to indicate the presence of medieval occupation, perhaps in the footprint of the existing farm building. The majority of archaeological deposits and structures located mainly in the areas to the rear of the farm were generally undated, and appeared to relate to post-medieval occupation and development of the farm.
