Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed evidence for at least two phases of pits on the site. The earliest was broadly dated to the Saxo-Norman period and probably functioned as cesspits. The second phase, which was undated, appeared to have been used for sand quarrying and predated the present cottage on the site. [Au(abr)] |
