Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of the proposed site of a residential development and a children's care centre was undertaken. The site lay within an Archaeological Priority Zone. Palaeolithic handaxes, neolithic and bronze age trackways and Romano-British occupation had been recorded in the surrounding area. Three medieval manors had been documented in the vicinity. It was concluded that an archaeological evaluation would be necessary. [AIP] |
