Abstract:
Consultation of readily-accesible archaeological, documentary and map-based archives indicated that the site lay in an area of archaeological potential, close to the historic core of Minchinhampton. In particular the remains of a medieval and later manor house, together with associated outbuildings, may have lain wholly or partially within the study area. It was uncertain to what degree such remains had been damaged by the construction of the former National School in 1868 and the present school in 1969. [Au]
