Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in response to a brief set by the County Archaeology Office. Four trenches with a total length of 160m were opened. Archaeological features were found in the two trenches nearest to Coldham's Lane, and these consisted of ditches, gullies and a pit. The only dating evidence recovered was a handful of heavily abraded Roman pottery sherds, which came from the pit in Trench 1. A single sherd of medieval pot was recovered from the upper fill of the same pit, a possible sealing deposit. [Au(abr)] |
