Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out at the site of a small extension within a listed building, the Archiepiscopal Palace. Thought to have been first constructed in the late 13th century, it became a school in 1889. The watching brief recorded early post-medieval floors and a possible late medieval wall footing. Medieval and later pottery, and building material were found, including a piece of probable 14th century worked stone from a window. [Au(abr)] |
