Abstract: |
Further evaluation trenches were excavated to investigate land to the south of the present A303 road to the west of Camel Hill Farm, as part of an evaluation of the A3030 Sparkford to Ilchester road improvement. Quarrying had severely affected the potential for the preservation of archaeological deposits in some areas. One section of a possible boundary or pallisade of Early Iron Age date was identified, and a field boundary of medieval or later date was also revealed. [AIP] |
