Abstract:		 A desk-based study was carried out prior to a housing development. Its findings indicated the likely presence of remains of two post-medieval salt works on the site. Other salt-making areas and brine pits were located in the vicinity. These archaeological remains were considered to be of local/regional importance with potential information on the past history and economic development of post-medieval Wheelock. [Au(adp)]
