Abstract: |
A total of 4ha was mapped using a fluxgate magnetometer, representing a 40% sample of the circa 10ha proposal area. The geophysical data provide tentative evidence for a system of tile land drain and/or a pattern of ridge and furrow cultivation. A cluster of intense magnetic diploes suggest a localised deposit of modern iron debris burnt material. The character of several of these anomalies is consistent with thermoremanent magnetisation within fired structures such as kilns or hearths or dumps of kiln waste. [Au(abr)] |
