Abstract: |
Archaeological features were recorded in 5 of the 45 trenches excavated. Worked flint of probable Bronze Age date was recovered from Trenches 1, 2 and 3. The majority of this material lay in a buried soil horizon in Trench 1. The partial excavation of a number of linear features in these trenches also produced flint dated to the Bronze Age, as well as finds of Late Iron Age date. A number of rather more amorphous features were recorded in Trenches 18 and 19. These relatively shallow features meandered across the surface with no obvious form or direction. No evidence of any Bronze Age structures was uncovered by the evaluation, although the presence of lithics and pottery appeared to indicate some human activity on the site during this period.[Au(abr)] |
