Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation was undertaken on Phase 3b of an ongoing programme of development works on the Monteith Estate. This was located adjacent to an Archaeological Priority Zone and the field evaluation was a requirement to gain full planning permission. Four evaluation trenches were investigated across the development site. No significant archaeological horizons were revealed, indeed, natural deposits were only revealed in limited exposures with 19th and 20th century features truncating earlier horizons, if they had existed. It was recommended that, based on the results of the archaeological field evaluation, no further archaeological interventions were required at the site. [Au(abr)] |
