Abstract: |
A watching brief held over works for a housing development revealed only field drainage systems, of Victorian and modern dates. The only point of interest was the suggestion that the site may have been on the edge of a shallow peat basin, which had been overlain by deposits of natural sands. The sand deposits were formed in thin layers, possibly representing successive flooding episodes, or local agricultural practices. [Au] |
