Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of two access pits excavated during the replacement of the water main between Lower Bitchfield Church and The Old Rectory. No archaeological material was revealed. It appeared that the gravel precursor of the modern road had not extended as far south as the former rectory and may have led only to the church. [Au(adp)] |
