Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken within a site known to have been an industrial suburb of the medieval town of Beverley, with previous excavations having located the sites of a number of tile kilns. In addition, timbers dating to the Middle Iron Age were also recovered from a site to the immediate east of the site. The watching brief revealed evidence of medieval brick and tile dumping which it was assumed to seal damp soils which were prevalent at that time. No structural features were recorded and no further monitoring was deemed necessary. [AIP] |
