Abstract: |
Test-trenches were excavated to evaluate the archaeological implications of the proposed re-routing of Redcliffe Way. Structural remains relating to the original and a post-medieval rebuild or consolidation of the Portwall (the mid-13th century town defences), a brick floor of a building contemporary with the Phoenix Glass Works, and other structural remains relating to buildings of post-medieval date were revealed.
