Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was maintained during repairs to the Scheduled Ancient Monument. The engine house is the principal building surviving from the former lead-mining settlement on the site. The repair work included the insertion of new wooden lintels over two ground floor doorways and the excavation and consolidation of the base of the chimney. Possible evidence of the secondary use of the building as domestic accommodation was found in the form of small hearths or fireplaces. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
