Abstract: |
Four trial trenches (2 x 10m by 2m, 1 x 12m by 2m and 1 x 7m by 2m) were excavated as an evaluation of the site prior to its proposed residential redevelopment. Approximately 35% of the site had been truncated by the former two storey Havering Sports Club. Features relating to the historic river Ingrebourne were observed as well as several land use features such as ditches dating to the 17th century. The report concluded that it was unlikley that any further archaeological work would be required. [Au(adp)] |
