Abstract: |
A geophysical and topographic survey of the proposed site of alterations to a footpath and a playground extension was carried out. Possible earthworks existed at the site, and a cottage in the immediate vicinity was thought to have a 17th century core. During the geophysical survey, areas of possible human activity and several linear anomalies which may have been archaeologically significant were recorded. Some of the latter were probably associated with enclosures shown on maps of the late 19th-early 20th centuries. Platforms and linear features, one of which may have been a path, were observed during the earthwork survey. It was concluded that the majority of the features recorded were unlikely to be affected by the development. [Au(abr)] |
