Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the stripping of topsoil in advance of the construction of a new driveway at the site of a church. The original building had dated from the 12th century, with the current flint rubble church being of 14th century date. No previous archaeological work had been carried out in the area, although it was thought that the church would have been a focus for any medieval occupation. During the topsoil stripping, material was removed to a depth of only 0.28m. No archaeological features were revealed. [AIP] |
