Abstract: |
An evaluation was conducted in advance of a proposed new playground at a school. Trenches revealed evidence of structural remains at a minimum depth of 0.35m below the ground surface. None of the structural remains were directly associated with finds and neither their date nor precise function were determined. However, the arrangement of stones found at the northern end of the trench was in the opinion of the excavators and other observers, consistent with the fragmentary remains of a Roman road or surface. Further archaeological mitigation was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
