Abstract: |
A second stage of work, comprising an open area excavation, was undertaken on the southern side of the Homefield Annexe site. The truncation of areas of the site by the construction of a Victorian school building had removed some of the archaeological deposits. A number of features ranging in date from the 12th to the 15th centuries were exposed revealing a continuity of use of the site right through the early to the later medieval period. Pits, including a cess pit, ditches, gullies and key-shaped features, probably grain driers, were excavated. [Au(adp)] |
