Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained dring the excavation of groundbeams and associated service trenches on land to the rear of the Co-Op retail store. The site lay within an area of known archaeological importance lying to the north-west f the Roman and medieval city walls and to the east of a Roman road. The watching brief only identified deposits of 19th or 20th century date within the area disturbed during development. [AIP] |
