Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	A desk-based assessment was undertaken on areas of proposed development associated with flood relief works. The study area extended to 2.5m square and the majority of the area was almost completely developed. A total of 33 cultural heritage sites were recorded within the vicinity with 12 of these being wholly or partially contained within the proposed development area. Most of these sites related to water powered industries. Three Listed Buildings were also identified within the area, with a further two laying immediately to the north, one of which was also a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Further archaeological work was recommended. [Au(adp)]
