Abstract: |
During the watching brief four archaeological features were recorded, and sample excavations were undertaken on them. In the middle section of the development area two large pits were recorded which contained Late Bronze Age pottery and associated worked and burnt flint. In the east of the site a north-south orientated possible field boundary ditch was recorded which contained worked and burnt flint. In the west of the site a large curvilinear possible field boundary ditch was recorded which contained worked flint, worked stone and animal bone. The information obtained from the watching brief complimented the general conclusions obtained from previous work on the site. It indicated the presence of dispersed settlement and associated agricultural activities of the Late Bronze Age. [Au(adp)] |
