Four trial trenches were excavated as an evaluation prior to the proposed redevelopment of the site. A single feature dating to the post-medieval period was identified in trench 1. Features were identified in trench 4, to the rear of the site, but were updateable. This suggested that the site lay in an area, which was utilised for orchards, pastures and kitchen gardens, with limited building development. [Au] |
