Abstract: |
Three trenches were excavated; subsequently, a full excavation took place. Three parallel sandstone walls and associated surfaces were found during the course of the fieldwork. These were thought to form a rectangular building 7.4m in length by 3m in width. The majority of the dateable evidence suggested an 18th century origin for the building and was interpreted as a workhouse. [Au(adp)] |
