Abstract: |
Four trenches were excavated to evaluate land proposed for residential development to the north of North Hertfordshire College. Only one feature of archaeological interest was noted, comprising a small ditch cutting the natural subsoil. This feature lay on a similar alignment to medieval ridge and furrow identified during a desk-based assessment of the site, although extensive groundworks in the recent past had severely truncated any archaeological remains in the area.
