Archaeological excavation to renew and deepen an existing man-hole revealed naturally laid clays and sands. A layer of clay which sealed the sands was cut by a Roman ditch running parallel to the Roman road at a distance of some 10-15 metres.The ditch was filled with waterlaid sands and clays. [AIP] |
