Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on a proposed redevelopment site. The immediate area historically was open land: settlement was concentrated within Wimbledon Village approximately 1.5km to the west and around the medieval centre of Merton Priory a similar distance to the south. No archaeological features were found in the trial pits. The natural had been truncated and the original soil horizons wholly removed. [Au(abr)] |
