Abstract: |
Seven trenches provided archaeological evidence for several periods. A ring ditch and possible associated post holes revealed in trench one were probably of prehistoric date, as was a cremation burial uncovered in trench four. A spearhead recovered from a double ditch located in trench five was probably from the Saxon period, as was a cremation burial uncovered in trench six, probably from the same double ditch? Unstratified medieval pottery was recovered from trenches one, two and six, and plough furrows running north-south across the site are believed to have been medieval or post-medieval in date.[Au(adp)] |
